Beginnings at Westminster Presbyterian Church

Their story began at Westminster Presbyterian Church, where they both grew up and were part of the Junior Choir. Christina was always there, helping Videl’s aunt with the kids, while Videl shone as the lead solo vocalist. Their paths crossed often, and it was only a matter of time before something more blossomed.

A Memorable Question

On the evening of September 11, 2007, at exactly 8:01 pm, Christina orchestrated a moment that would change everything. She convinced her brother David to ask Videl when he would finally ask Christina to be his girlfriend. This playful nudge led to the beginning of their romantic journey.

High School Sweethearts

Though they attended different high schools—Christina at Birchmount Park and Videl at David and Mary Thomson—they remained inseparable. Their first date was a casual lunch enjoying poutine at a mom-and-pop shop near Christina’s school. Christina even tutored Videl in Grade 10 Math, proving that love can make any subject more interesting. Videl, in turn, introduced Christina to sushi, which quickly became her favorite food.

Growing Up Together

They experienced many of life's firsts together, a long list spanning 17 years. In 2018, their joy grew with the addition of their beloved Milo, a name chosen by Christina. Their shared love for boutique grocery shops, long walks in the mall, and occasional beach outings with Milo became the rhythm of their life together.

A Love for Fall and Family

Their favorite season is Fall, which is why they chose to marry on Thanksgiving weekend. This time of year, filled with family gatherings and the beauty of changing leaves, means the world to them. Videl's obsession with Halloween is a fun and quirky part of their life that Christina lovingly supports.

The Proposal

In the summer of 2023, they took their first trip together to Quebec City, staying at the enchanting Fairmont Chateau Frontenac. Before this adventure, Videl knew he wanted to propose. He arranged a private tour at their favorite vineyard, SouthBrook in Niagara-on-the-Lake, with both of their families secretly in on the plan. During what Christina thought was a brief tour, they stumbled upon an elaborate proposal setup by Niagara Proposals. Christina, thinking they had intruded on someone else's moment, turned around, expecting a simple pizza on the patio. Instead, she found Videl on one knee, ready to continue their story.

Today and Beyond

Here they are now, on October 12, 2024, ready to begin the next chapter of their journey. Their love story is a tapestry of shared experiences, cherished moments, and unwavering support for each other. They can't wait to see what the future holds, as they continue to grow and love together.
